Filter Media Felt

Filter materials are widely used to remove dust or other particulates from air, gases, or liquids. Compared to other commonly used textile filter media, such as woven fabrics, needle-punched filter materials offer superior performance. Both fiber fineness and product density affect the efficiency of the filter cloth. The specific choice of fibers and needling methods depends on the actual application of the filter medium.

Industrial bag-type needle-punched filter materials require a strong base scrim into which the fiber web is punched from top to bottom, as these filters must withstand high pressure and strong tension. Conversely, some non-industrial filter materials do not require a base scrim. High-temperature filter materials must use fibers that remain stable under elevated temperatures as raw materials, with special glass fibers and aramid fibers being among the most common. For needle-punched filter materials, the most critical factor is ensuring the strength of the finished product. The aforementioned structuring barb needles can effectively protect fibers from damage, thereby ensuring product strength.

Two other key considerations are the density and air permeability of the finished product. To achieve the required density and avoid over-needling that could impair product permeability, it is highly recommended to use DOER star needles.
